The project is meant to fight "fake news"

The social media giant has decided to restore its credibility by launching an initiative called the Facebook Journalism Project. The company says it will involve publishers in the creation of new products.The move comes in the wake of the American election and "fake news" scandals.

In Gambia, president Yahyah Jammeh has said he will not step down before his country's Supreme Court decides whether of not the results from last month's election were valid.

And India has demanded an apology from the online retailer Amazon after it sold Indian flag themed doormats
