Donald Trump's attacks on US car makers appear to be working: today Ford scrapped plans to build a $1.6bn dollar plant in Mexico, and will instead invest the money in Michigan.

On the campaign trail Donald Trump made it clear he was going to get tough on car makers who out-sourced production. He's not yet taken office but already the auto industry seems to be dancing to his tune: today US car giant Ford announced it will cancel a $1.6 bn dollar plant it planned to build in Mexico, and will instead extend its operations in Michigan. We speak to Nick Bunkley from Automotive News in Detroit, the city at the heart of the US auto industry.
