Lauren Laverne chats to Zadie Smith about her latest novel, Swing Time, which follows two London girls as they grow up on the wrong side of town and unite through dance.

Lauren chats to writer Zadie Smith about her latest novel 'Swing Time'. Beginning in London, the book finds two girls growing up on the wrong side of town & uniting through dance. From here it travels from New York to West Africa, taking in a musical journey incorporating Michael Jackson, Gambian drumming and Rakim. It's Zadie's fifth novel and 16 years since she exploded onto the literary scene with her debut 'White Teeth'.
