The leader of the Presbyterian church is under fire for his comments about bonfires.

Dr Frank Sellar said they are not "fuelled by inclusiveness, respect and healing," but are instead, "a means by which we pass on to succeeding generations the sins of our fathers".

Also, Stormont has rejected a ban on animal snares, despite pressure from political parties and welfare groups. Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Minister Michelle McIlveen has defended her decision. She says there is a need to use them to protect farm animals and game birds from predators like foxes. But Alliance MLA Chris Lyttle says it is a "cruel practice" and wants to see a "total ban".
