Resident artists at the Lammermuir Festival 2016 play Bartok, Dvorak, Bach and Beethoven.

From the Lammermuir Festival 2016, Bartok, Dvorak, Bach and Beethoven, with Andreas Borregaard (accordion), the Navarra Quartet, Lisa Fershtman (violin), Roman Rabinovich (piano).

Resident artists at this year's Lammermuir Festival, Lisa Fershtman (violin) with Roman Rabinovich (piano), Andreas Borregaard (accordion) and the Navarra Quartet, perform highlights from their concerts around the villages of East Lothian. Bartok's first Rhapsody integrates the inflections of Hungarian village music strongly into this fiery and expressive work. Dvorak's love songs transformed into short quartet movements, every one a romantic gem, contrast with the deceptive simplicity of Bach's English Suite performed here on the two-manual classical accordion. The programme is rounded off by Lisa Ferschtman, who performed the slow middle movement from Beethoven's 6th Violin Sonata as an encore to her concert.
