India's outgoing central bank governor defends his record whilst in office

India's outgoing central bank governor defends his record and says any criticism of the government was conveyed through private channels.

One of the world's most high profile central bankers is about to return to academia. Raghuram Rajan, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India built a reputation for being outspoken on issues that sometimes went beyond the economy - and this resulted in criticism from some politicians who felt he was too critical of government policy. So did this play a part in Mr Rajan not signing on for a second term? Sameer Hashmi met him in Mumbai and asked just that.

Facebook is a company that relies on ad revenue and to protect that revenue it's changing its coding to stop ad-blockers working when you visit Facebook on your desktop computer. Should we care? We hear from Ben Parr, a tech writer based in San Francisco.

The climate of the Middle East seems to be getting ever hotter and ever dryer. According to the United Nations, the extreme conditions cause 230,000 deaths a year - far more than all the conflicts in the region. Two rare one-cent coins dating back to 1792 are going on sale and they're expected to reach nearly a million dollars. The Silver Center Cent and the Birch Cent are both copper coins made during the early days of the US Mint. The BBC's Vishala Sri-Pathma spoke to Eric Bradly from the Heritage Auction house in Southern California, where the sale is taking place
