A Prom in which Andrew Davis conducts the BBC SO. Tchaikovsky: The Tempest. Payne: Of Land, Sea and Sky. Bruch: Violin Concerto No 1. Vaughan Williams: Toward the Unknown Region.

Another chance to hear the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Chorus, violinist Ray Chen all conducted by Sir Andrew Davis in Bruch's Violin Concerto, an Anthony Payne premiere, Tchaikovsky's the Tempest, and Vaughan Williams' s Toward the Unknown Region.

Vaughan Williams's Toward the Unknown Region was his first large-scale masterpiece, setting the visionary words of Walt Whitman. Sir Andrew Davis also conducts Tchaikovsky's swashbuckling The Tempest and the first performance of Anthony Payne's Of Land, Sea and Sky. Bruch's radiant First Violin Concerto completes the programme.
