Catriona Young presents a performance of Handel's pastoral Acis and Galatea conducted by Christopher Hogwood.

In this week's Opera Matinee there is the opportunity to hear again a performance of Handel's pastoral masterpiece, Acis and Galatea in a performance first broadcast in 2009. Catriona Young presents a recording made at the Royal Opera House, London, during the 250th anniversary of George Frederic Handel's death. The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under Christopher Hogwood lead a performance with Charles Workman and Danielle de Niese in the title roles. The afternoon also includes orchestral music conducted by Pierre Boulez in the 2009 Lucerne Summer Festival.
