Chris Rea joins Simon to talk about his new old project 'La Passione'. Originally released in 1996, La Passione is a drama film about the racing driver Wolfgang von Trips, written and produced by Chris Rea himself, directed by John B. Hobbs, and starring Sean Gallagher, Paul Shane and Shirley Bassey. It is now being re-released 20 years on since the original. The new version comes with a 110 minute documentary, featuring never before seen footage of most of von Trips' racing contemporaries including Juan Manuel Fangio, Peter Collins, Stirling Moss and team mate Phil Hill (and some extremely rare footage of legendary motor racing correspondent Dennis Jenkinson).

There is obviously the original soundtrack with some new songs thrown in, all composed by Chris.

Rea is one of the most popular UK singer-songwriters of the late 1980s. He was already a major European star by the time he finally cracked the UK Top 10 with his 18th chart entry; 'The Road to Hell (Part 2)' and in a career that has spanned over 30 years he has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
