Amidst more fallout from the VW emissions scandal, Ford's boss tells us the car's future remains bright. Plus, one of Africa's first production cars goes on sale. Can it compete?

We delve into the fast-changing world of the auto industry. From Volkswagen to Mitsubishi Motors, car-makers everywhere are battling a range of potential sanctions over different aspects of the emissions scandal. How bad can it get for them? 

Also, we hear from the president of one car maker so far largely unaffected. Ford Motor company's Mark Shields tells us that despite the setbacks, a high-tech future for cars offers plenty of growth opportunities. 

We test-drive one of Africa's first ever home-designed production cars, produced by the Ghanaian firm, Kantanka. I ask the company's CEO, Kwadwo Safo Jr, whether the African firm can seriously compete? And, Lucy Kellaway of the Financial Times fulminates on the distorted images used to portray women in a male-dominated workplace.
