After years of political reforms, an election and a drawn out nomination process Myanmar has a new civilian leader, President Htin Kyaw.  

As the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visits the US, Washington orders families of its defence and diplomatic staff to pull out of Turkey for security reasons. 

A team of British scientists has flown to Brazil to help with the fight against the mosquito which transmits the Zika virus.
