In a special report, Darren Laing travels to Crimea to see how people's lives there have changed since the region's annexation by Russia in 2014.

In 2014, Crimea changed from being governed by Ukraine to Russia. Russia is adamant that this was decided by democratic vote, but the Ukrainian authorities maintain that Russia's annexation was unlawful.
