His iconic TV programmes of the 1980s brought many a drama into our living rooms, and were among the first to address controversial storylines such as domestic abuse and drug addiction. Creator of Grange Hill and Brookside - Phil Redmond - talks about his life and career with Ricky.

In our occasional series about the Things that Matter in our lives, Buddhist nun, Kelsang Machig, tells Anna Magnusson about the day, 14 years ago, that changed her life.

We've seen the escalation in the number of refugees arriving in Greece, which has created both hostility and support. Many locals - and volunteers from all over the world - have offered a warm welcome, food and care, and as a result have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Ricky hears from those immersed in the crisis - Eric Kempson who lives on the Greek island of Lesbos, his 17 year old daughter EJ who has been helping out, and Pam Jackson, a volunteer who has recently returned from Greece.

Retirement was a time when life would slow down; now it can be when life moves into a new and more interesting phase. BBC 2 series 'The Real Marigold Hotel' sees a group of celebrities considering their own retirement far from home. Recent retirees Chris Foxon and Pam Jackson talk about how they've approached this time.

As Lent begins this week, it will also see the start of a prayer vigil held by the 40 Days for Life anti-abortion campaign outside a Glasgow hospital. Many of us hold strong feelings on this issue, but how challenging is it to hold a firm personal view while also trying to find a space where you can respect conflicting opinions? Ricky is joined by teacher of medical ethics, Gina Menzies, and Virginia Moffatt, from the think-tank Ekklesia which examines religion in public life.
