Music of supernatural extraction for tonight's 'Sunday Night' with the BBC Philharmonic.

Ben Gernon conducts the BBC Philharmonic in a Halloween special for Sunday Night is Music Night.

A spell will be cast over BBC Radio 2 in this Halloween special.

Craig Charles' Scary Fairy is a revamp of Little Red Riding Hood, with added blood and guts for good measure! Craig used to tell it to his children at bedtime, and he has relished making it darker as they have grown up. 

Craig teamed up with the BBC Philharmonic and composer Iain Farrington, and the result is 40 minute musical story in the style of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.  

In the first half of the programme, Louise Minchin introduces some of the most enchanting pieces in classical music, all recorded in the BBC Philharmonic's studio in Salford and conducted by Ben Gernon. 

First broadcast in 2015.
