The BBC Singers peform Dylan Thomas's A Child's Christmas in Wales. Plus the BBC SSO in Strauss's Ein Heldenleben and the BBC Symphony Orchestra in Schoenberg's Verklarte Nacht.

begins with Dylan Thomas's prose poem homage to the Christmases of his childhood, illustrated with seasonal music for choir performed by the BBC Singers. Then the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in concert from Edinburgh's Usher Hall with a performance of Strauss Ein Heldenleben, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican performing Schoenberg's Verklarte Nacht in its arrangement for string orchestra.
