Chinese miners rescued, Elections in the Central African Republic, Dmitry Rogozin's foot

State media in China say eight miners trapped for five days after a mine caved in have been found alive.

Despite continuing conflict, the people of the Central African Republic are voting in elections for a new president and parliament.

Pretty much every politician must have felt they'd shot themselves in the foot at one time or other. But Russia's deputy prime minister appears to have done it for real.
