Stepping up efforts to find an end to the Syria conflict.

An encounter many years ago in Damascus offers clues to a possible way to end the protracted and complicated Syrian war, and stories from Colombia, Hungary, Vietnam and Italy.

But the Romans are putting all this to one side, at least for a few days. After all, it's Christmas! And there are menus to be planned!
