The men's decathlon nears its climax at the Nagai Stadium, with Olympic and European champion Roman Sebrle facing a stiff challenge from defending champion Bryan Clay in the javelin. In the men's pole vault, America's six-metre jumper Brad Walker is favourite to go one better than his silver medal at the last World Championships.
