Join Mark Stephen and Euan McIlwraith for the latest outdoor activities from Shetland to the Borders, including a look at different systems of land tenure.

This week Euan finds out about different systems of land tenure. In Orkney an ancient Scandinavian 'Udal' system partly operates as opposed to the feudal system that is more common across the UK. Dr Annie Tindley from Dundee University explains the differences between the feudal and Udal systems.

Mark is at Hillhead Of Muirton farm in Aberdeenshire with farmer Roddy Catto who has installed a biomass boiler which heats not only his house and three others on the farm, but also allows him to power his grain dryer. 

Laura visits Loch Arthur farm shop at Beeswing just outside Dumfries and finds out how it operates as part of a Camphill community and how it has grown over the past twenty five years.

Mark is in Glasgow catching up on the progress of the Cuningar Loop, part of the Commonwealth Games legacy programme in the city. This weekend is the start of the park being open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays.

Helen investigates the 'hutting' movement in Scotland. While owning a small hut in the countryside is popular in Scandinavia, laws in Scotland have prevented any new huts being built since the 1940s. But Donald McPhillimy from Reforesting Scotland is hopeful that could soon change. 

'Men's Sheds' is a movement that started in Australia with the aim of providing a place for men who find themselves retired, out of work or just plain bored to go and socialise and stop them feeling isolated. Aberdeenshire has been the starting point in Scotland and Mark goes along to one of the newest sheds in Inverurie to meet some of the 'shedders'. 

Euan is in Stirling speaking to Stirling Council's Fisheries Officer Scott Mason about changes in catch and release regulations for salmon rivers and what the impacts could be. 

Last Saturday saw the demolition of the Cockenzie Power Station Towers. Mark takes to the water to get the best view of the famous structures coming down.
