Geoffrey Smith celebrates the music of tenor saxophonist Chu Berry. A swing era great, he worked with Coleman Hawkins, Lionel Hampton, Fletcher Henderson and Cab Calloway.

Despite his early death, tenor saxophonist Chu Berry (1908-41) was a swing era giant, allied with the likes of Coleman Hawkins, Lionel Hampton, Fletcher Henderson and Cab Calloway. Geoffrey Smith picks highlights from his brilliant recordings.
