It's the turn of the next generation to enter the famous tent in this series of Junior Bake Off, hosted by the inimitable Aaron Craze. Forty of the country's best young bakers face the biggest baking battle on earth. They cross whisks over cakes, biscuits, pastry and bread as they try to prove themselves to queen of cakes Mary Berry and award-winning pastry chef James Martin in an attempt to become the 2013 Junior Bake Off champion.

Four new bakers are ready to do what it takes to show off their baking skills in front of Aaron and the judges. First Mary puts them to the test with a technical challenge for perfect melting moment biscuits, before they have to get in the party mood with a show-stopping cake fit for a carnival. From a pick-and-mix chocolate cake and a carnival queen to a helter skelter and a marbled zebra cake, only one baker will impress Mary Berry and James Martin enough to earn them a place in the semi-final.
