Critics challenged the mine in Queensland on environmental grounds.

Mine go-ahead overturned because environmentalists argued it could damage vulnerable species and how Egypt's Suez Canal expansion could boost the country's economy.

An Australian court has overturned government approval for Indian company Adani's giant coal mine in Queensland. Critics challenged the decision in the Federal Court of Australia because of environmental concerns, including the threat posed to vulnerable species and damage to the Great Barrier Reef. 

Egypt officially unveils an expanded Suez Canal on Thursday. It is one of the country's biggest construction projects since the original canal was built nearly 150 years ago. It is hoped it will reduce delays, increase capacity and attract more traffic and revenue. We ask just how valuable the new lane will be to the troubled Egyptian economy.
