After hundreds of migrants die at sea, European leaders step up rescue patrols.

After the deaths of many hundreds of migrants in the Mediterranean, European leaders decide to step up naval patrols.  They might destroy the people-smugglers' boats too.

European leaders responded to the deaths of hundreds of migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean by stepping up rescue efforts -- and thinking about destroying the people-smugglers' boats too.  But many Eritreans are desperate to leave their prison of a country -- and there's no central authority in Libya worth the name.
