Six children find out if they have what it takes to be a vet. The junior vets go swimming with critically endangered sharks to find out if one of them is pregnant with shark pups.

We've only gone and managed to convince the world famous Edinburgh Royal Vet School to reopen its doors to six new junior vets! But not all of the raw recruits are desperate to become vets when they're older. Some of them might well get wobbly at the slightest suggestion of surgery and others could panic at the prospect of picking up a puppy. One thing's for certain though, they're all keen to try and prove they can overcome any fears and phobias and become top animal menders. And every one of them is desperate to bag the prestigious title of head vet.

This time, we test them out at an even bigger network of zoos, wildlife hospitals and vet practices beyond vet school as we really put the junior vets through their paces. Junior Vets 2 is gritty, raw and real but also life-affirming, heartwarming and mischievously entertaining as the trainees are guided through an increasingly intense training programme and real vet work... something very few young people have ever been allowed to experience before.

Plus they take control of vet duties at the pet show and judge all sorts of animals, including guinea pigs, chickens, puppies and a bearded dragon. They also need to do tricky surgery on little dog Nisha, who damaged her knee while playing with a ball.
