As Radio 3 celebrates music inspired by gardens and flowers, organic gardener Bob Flowerdew joins Sara Mohr-Pietsch to chat about a selection of choral music he's especially chosen for the programme. Sara also explores choral music with horticultural links on this special edition of The Choir, including Handel's Acis and Galatea, first performed in the garderns of the Earl of Chandos, Paul Mealor's Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal and Bob Chilcott's The Lily and the Rose. The Choral Classic this week is Britten's Five Flower Songs, written for a couple who were keen botanists, and Riverside Opera introduce themselves in Meet My Choir.
