From New York's Metropolitan Opera, a performance of Bizet's Carmen, with Elina Garanca singing the title role of the ill-fated temptress. Louis Langree conducts.

Tonight's recording from the New York Metropolitan Opera is Bizet's Carmen. Don Jose falls hopelessly in love with the wild gypsy, Carmen. When she tires of him and just wants to be free, it's too much for him to bear and he stabs her. Elina Garanca sings the title role of the ill-fated temptress, and Yonghoon Lee her desperate lover. Louis Langrée conducts.
