As the battles commence, the premise is simple: one song - two voices - one winner.

Singing contest. The battle stage begins. Each battle sees two artists from the same team compete against each other in a vocal showdown.

Each battle sees two artists from the same team compete against each other in a vocal showdown. After each battle, the artists' own coach must decide who will progress to the knockout stage - and who will be sent home.
 
But it's not quite over for the losing artist. The other coaches can steal a losing artist for their own team. Each coach gets two steals - if they missed out on an act during the blind auditions, this is their chance to finally grab them.
