Simon Mayo talks to actor Julia McKenzie about her role in The Casual Vacancy.

Simon Mayo is joined by actor Julia McKenzie, who discusses her role in the BBC's adaptation of JK Rowling's novel The Casual Vacancy. Plus music, sport, travel and money news.

Actress Julia McKenzie won multiple awards for her role as Hester in the TV comedies 'Fresh Fields' and 'French Fields' and has more recently appeared as the title role in the much loved 'Miss Marple'. She is set to star in the brand new adaptation of JK Rowling's novel The Casual Vacancy, for BBC 1. The Harry Potter writer's first adult novel is being transformed into a three-hour mini series for the BBC and HBO. The tale, a social satire set in a small West Country town called Pagford, has been executive produced by JK Rowling herself. McKenzie will star alongside Keeley Hawes, Michael Gambon and Rory Kinnear.
