Life seems normal in Libya, rallying with Spain's Podemos party, German Pegida movement

Life seems normal in Libya, rallying with Spain's Podemos party, the German Pegida movement, tales from a Malian refugee in Burkina Faso and a story of sex in Paris.

In Libya, Ian Pannell feels safer than he expected and finds that in many places life seems very normal, with families out at funfairs and restaurants full. And Tom Burridge attends a rally of the buoyant Podemos party in Spain, that hopes to emulate the success of its Greek counterpart Syriza. 

In eastern Germany, Farhana Dawood meets locals who do not like the anti-Islamisation Pegida movement. Meanwhile, Chris Simpson in Burkina Faso bonds with a Malian refugee over Timbuktu. And Hugh Schofield in Paris has a tale of sex next to a toddler's coffin - the dead child's parents are trying to create a new body for his soul to be reincarnated in - in accordance with the mother's Theosophist beliefs. She is the Irish poet W B Yeats's long-time muse Maud Gonne.
