Eight out of ten ambulance trusts in England missed performance targets for responding to life and death calls. The aim is to get to patients within eight minutes in 75% of cases.

8 out of 10 ambulance trusts in England are failing to hit performance targets for responding to the most serious medical emergencies. With NHS emergency services in crisis, the programme goes inside one ambulance trust as they cope with a sharp rise in calls. The programme sees how they manage life and death decisions and the impacts of queues outside A+E units which can take an emergency vehicle off the road for hours.
