Heading to an extreme environments laboratory, Steve is stripped to his underwear in a huge freezer and plunged into a swimming pool of chilled water to see what happens to his body in these extreme conditions. How will Steve match up to the cold specialists in the natural world? From thick sea otter pelts and inches of walrus blubber, to the ultimate ability to freeze solid and still survive, animals have evolved ingenious ways to beat the killer cold.
