Sir Terry Wogan and Tess Daly present the night of fun and fundraising.

A star-studded line-up takes part in this year's marathon fundraising effort, including One Direction and the cast of West End hit Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Sir Terry Wogan and Tess Daly kick off the night of fun and fundraising with entertainment treats from Strictly Come Dancing, the cast of EastEnders as they have never been seen before, and West End hit Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Also appearing are Gareth Malone and his All Star Choir, performing the official BBC Children in Need single for the first time on television. There is also a Doctor Who exclusive, plus screen legends Tom and Jerry team up with some of the BBC's best-loved television shows. Some famous faces from Albert Square return in an exclusive sketch, Fearne Cotton joins in the fun, Cheryl sings and there is a unique one-off live performance from One Direction.
