Set in Yorkshire, two years before the Great War - an elderly GP sees England and himself coming to the end of an era. 

How will he cope with a complicated, coincidental family reunion? 

Starring Joan Plowright, Leslie Sands, Michael Jayston and Geoffrey Palmer,

Written in 1934, JB Priestley described this play as one for which he had "a special tenderness like that which some parents feel for a certain child."
 
Described for the initial BBC broadcast as a "stereophonic radio version", it features the cast of the 1974 National Theatre production in London.
