The Canadian capital Ottawa is in lockdown after a gunman opened fire in Parliament

A gunman who killed a soldier guarding a war memorial before opening fire in the Canadian parliament was shot dead leaving the Canadian capital in lockdown.

In Canada a gunman has been shot dead after killing a soldier who was guarding a war memorial. Laura Payton from the Candadian Broadcasting Corporation gives us the details. And, Elizabeth May, leader of Canada's Green Party, gives us the latest from inside the parliament precint which has been in lockdown after the gunman opened fire there.
