At the turn of the century, the alternative hip hop supergroup consisting of Del The Funky Homosapien, Kid Koala and the legendary Dan The Automator released Deltron 3030, one of the best hip hop concept records of all time... It unravelled an album-length narrative about the titular year of 3030, in which the trio take on alter ego roles of galactic superheros who comb the universe, supporting Deltron-Z's secret Earthling existence by participating in rap battles where the rhymes inherently summon psychic powers that overcome the opponent. That was thirteen years ago, before there was an arty hip hop scene, before rappers appropriated nerdcore and before geek culture became popular culture. Deltron 3030 have assumed their superhero roles once again to resurrect a world that is part Orwellian dystopia, part Star Wars and all Hip Hop featuring guest appearances from Damon Albarn and Jamie Cullen. The band will be spinning the tracks for a Guest Mix for Tom's show.
