Recent US Open winner Martin Kaymer will be at Royal Liverpool looking for his second Major triumph of the season. 

This time last year eventual winner Phil Mickelson's title-bid stuttered with a second-round 74 while Miguel Angel Jimenez took the overnight lead.

Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald missed the cut on day two last year and the big names will want to avoid a similar fate today.
