Friday Night presents an Independence Day special, featuring iconic American music from Gershwin to Sousa, Broadway to the Old West, New York to San Francisco.

A special Independence Day edition originally broadcast on July 4th, as the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Keith Lockhart presents a musical tribute to America. The concert will feature some iconic musical Americana - George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, the wide open plains of Jerome Moss's The Big Country, the stars and stripes of a Sousa march, the Moonlight Serenade of Glenn Miller and the hot jazz quartet of a New York deli ... From Broadway to Baseball, New York to San Francisco, the Wild West to the west coast ... Friday Night celebrates the 4th of July. With star guest singers, including the Olivier nominated actress Rosalie Craig, West End star Michael Xavier, the fabulous jazz quartet Smitty's Big Four and the sixty piece BBC Concert Orchestra ...
