John Beattie asks: to what extent is it your duty to look after elderly relatives?

TOPIC 1: MOBILES
Scotland has the worst mobile coverage in the UK, according to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). The FSB called on the Scottish government to relax planning rules to allow development to boost coverage. The small business body cited the Scottish government's own research suggesting more than a quarter of the country lacked adequate coverage.The Scottish government said it was "committed to improving mobile coverage in Scotland".

"Protecting Our Parents", a BBC Two short series has been raising questions about how we will cope in our own old age, and what plans we should make for the ageing people in our lives. Thursdays episode looks at three case studies Betty, Jim and Henry who, like thousands of older people in the UK each year, are in hospital following a fall. They want to return home, but the challenge for the professionals and their families is balancing their safety and independence.
