In part one, bandleader Charlie Barnet recalls the night when his band was playing at the World famous Palomar ballroom in Los Angeles and the whole place went up in smoke.  Thankfully, there were no casualties.  In the second hour Stan Kenton explains his feelings about Jazz.  Plus with the New Year bursting forth, Graham’s musical theme this week is “young at heart”.
