The show features ambitious renovations and inspirational transformations, but also highlights the work carried out by the UK's Empty Property Officers, whose job it is to get unoccupied homes back into use. 

In this episode, Joe meets Mike and Angela Sheppard in Lincoln, who have bought a derelict Baptist chapel and the neighbouring Victorian house. They are keen to share their plans to knock the two properties together into one large modern house - and to get as much guidance as they can. To give Mike and Angela tips and inspiration, Joe introduces them to a couple who have successfully knocked through a number of adjoining derelict farm buildings into a spacious and stylish family home.

In Chichester, West Sussex, Joe sees how a large former mental hospital is being transformed into family homes powered by a vast on-site eco energy plant. Also in this episode, Empty Property Officer Iain Cobby continues his mission to save abandoned houses in Shepway, Kent.
