Six months after the Rana Plaza disaster are Bangladeshi garments factories any safer?

Six months after the collapse of the Rana Plaza garments factory have the victims been compensated, and are the factories any safer?

Six months ago, the collapse of the Rana Plaza garments factory complex in Bangladesh killed over 1,000 employees. The disaster brought to worldwide attention the terrible health and safety conditions under which the workers, who produce the fashion items worn by people around the globe, must toil.

Ed Butler travels to Bangladesh to find out whether working conditions in the garments industry - which provides 80% of the country's foreign currency earnings - are any safer. A visit to some of the factory floors suggests that the risk of another disaster - particularly from fire - remains a worrying reality for many workers.

Ed speaks to the widow of one of the victims of the Rana Plaza collapse about what help and compensation she has since received. We also hear from Primark - one of the international clothing retailers that had been obtaining garments from the factory.
