Joe meets a couple who plan an turning two empty cottages into one house.

Property series. Joe meets Simon Eden and Caroline Matthews, who plan to turn their empty property in Brighton into a new home and a hairdressing salon.

Joe Crowley offers invaluable advice for viewers looking to rescue a house for themselves and finds out more about our housing stock, our heritage and why we should be both reinventing and preserving Britain's Empty Homes. The show features ambitious renovations and inspirational transformations, but also highlights the work carried out by the UK's Empty Property Officers, whose job it is to get unoccupied homes back into use. 

In this episode, Joe meets Simon Eden and Caroline Matthews, who have bought an empty flat with shop frontage in Brighton. They are keen to share their plans to turn the site into their new home and a hairdressing salon - and to get as much guidance as they can. To give Simon and Caroline tips and inspiration, Joe introduces them to an interior designer who has done an amazing job of converting an empty Victorian terraced house into a stunning home on a similar renovation budget. 

Joe also discovers how the creative conversion of a derelict mews into live-work spaces has helped regenerate part of Lewisham in South London, and we follow Empty Property Officer Andy Emmerson on his mission to save abandoned houses in Thanet, Kent.
