Recorded archive from the Doegen Collection of 1928-31 offers an insight into the accents and idioms of the Irish language in Ulster, Munster and Connacht at that time.

Idir 1928 agus 1931 rinneadh cainteoirí dúchasacha Gaeilge a thaifeadadh i gCúige Uladh, Mumhan agus Chonnacht. 'Bailiúchán Doegen' a thugtar ar na taifid seo atá curtha ar líne le gairid ag Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann. Cluintear cuid de na guthanna ón bhailiúchan sa chlár seo anocht a thugann léargas dúinn ar bhlas agus chiútaí cainte na Gaeilge fud fad Chúige Uladh. 

Between 1928 and 1931 native Irish speakers were recorded in Ulster, Munster and Connacht. These records are known as the 'Doegen Collection' which was recently published online by the Royal Irish Academy. In tonight's programme we hear some of the recorded archive giving us an insight into the accents and idioms of the Irish language in Ulster at that time.
