This week, acclaimed radio and television broadcaster Paul Gambaccini picks the Tracks Of My Years. Today he goes for a 1957 summer hit by Elvis Presley that was featured on the soundtrack album to the film Loving You. Plus there's a 1963 number one from The Beatles that was also The Fab Four's first US chart topper. On Friday, BBC Radio 2 broadcasts a special evening of programmes to celebrate Paul Gambaccini's 40th anniversary as a broadcaster in Britain. Gambaccini arrived at Radio 1 in 1973 from American college radio and Rolling Stone magazine and he is the only broadcaster who has presented regular programmes onBBC Radio's 1, 2, 3 and 4.
