Marin Alsop, conductor at the 2013 Last Night of the Proms, introduces music that has defined her life in music so far, including Bernstein, Mahler, Brahms and Beethoven.

Earlier this month Marin Alsop conducted the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at the Proms and she is set to make history by becoming the first female conductor of the famous Last Night next week. Saturday Classics continues its series featuring artists from this year's festival as Marin guides us through a selection of pieces that have defined her life in music so far, including works by Bernstein, Mahler, Brahms and Beethoven.

Live music and the arts: broadcasts more live music than any other radio network. Classical music is its core. Genres include world and new music, jazz, speech and drama.
