The BBC takes you on a rich musical journey with eight of Africa’s most inspiring up-and-coming artists.
We bring together the musicians featured in the BBC's recent Africa Beats multi-media series. Each of the eight stars recorded an acoustic version of a favourite song exclusively for the BBC.
This special programme offers you the opportunity to listen to those songs in full, and to hear what inspires and motivates these talented artists. Half the sessions were recorded on location in South Africa, so there is a southern African emphasis, but musicians from DR Congo, Nigeria and Ethiopia also feature.
The artists are:
The Soil from South Africa
Jupiter from DR Congo
Toya De Lazy from South Africa
Peter Mawanga from Malawi
Bez from Nigeria
Jaak from South Africa
Mokoomba from Zimbabwe
Krar Collective from Ethiopia
