Unknown Mortal Orchestra are live in session and Lauren takes a closer look at the day's new releases in New Music Monday.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra will be live in session playing tracks from their new album II. The band started out as Ruban Nielson's anonymous home-recording project that fused psychedelia, soul, choppy percussion and funk. 
Unknown Mortal Orchestra came to life in basements and bedrooms after Nielson moved from his native New Zealand to Portland, Oregon with his family. Following the recruitment of a new drummer Greg Rogove (in addition to longtime bassist Jacob Portrait), a record deal followed as did a tour of the US with Grizzly Bear and Liars. 
Plus, Lauren takes a closer look at the best of the day's releases in New Music Monday, brings you some brilliant free music in MPFree and offers an invitation to take some time to enjoy a rather fabulous Headphone Moment.
