The BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists Scheme helps to support talented musicians to reach the next stages of their careers and brings some of the world’s most promising new talent to listeners across the UK through BBC Radio 3 broadcasts.

German cellist Leonard Elschenbroich, a 2012-14 Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme, performs Rachmaninov's Cello Sonata in G minor with Alexei Grynyuk (piano).

A series of programmes over the Christmas season celebrating and showcasing the talents of the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists and welcoming the new intake onto the scheme. German cellist Leonard Elschenbroich is welcomed onto the scheme this year, and begins with a substantial work - Rachmaninov's cello sonata in G minor recorded at BBC Maida Vale studios
