Swing was king, and its popularity came to a head during the Second World War, when the music became the sound of America. They explore the work of the superstars of the day, as well as that of less well-known arrangers and bandleaders who were to have a huge influence on the future sound of big bands.

Live music and the arts: broadcasts more live music than any other radio network. Classical music is its core. Genres include world and new music, jazz, speech and drama.
