We're constantly being given messages of economic doom and gloom - the latest of which being that a quarter of shops and nearly a fifth of hotels in Scotland could go bust within the next 12 months. 

Kaye asks: What is the economic reality in Scotland when it comes to tourism and retail? Is the situation as bad as it's being made out to be? 

Forecasters have been accused of forever putting a gloomy outlook on the, well... gloomy outlook. Kaye invites BBC Scotland's own Stav Danaos to try to put a more positive spin on the country's weather
